#87: Are you trying to fit in? Stop
Wednesday Jun 07, 2023
Wednesday Jun 07, 2023
In this episode, Jeanette shares her thoughts on the importance of being true to yourself and embracing authenticity in both business and personal life. As adults, we often forget our divine uniqueness and the importance of staying true to our calling without feeling the need to conform to others' expectations. Success lies in being true to yourself and using your unique gifts and talents. Tune in!
You are unique. God gave unique traits, strengths as well as "weaknesses" and that is what makes you, you, and that's also what others want to see. Many people make the mistake of creating a curated persona choosing the characteristics they think will resonate and be well received, but if you do that, the people who need to hear your message and connect with you through your God-given personality, will flee from you. They will notice that something is off because you are not being true to yourself.
Full disclosure, there will be someone who will not like you anyway, but what is really important is to establish connections with the right audience, with the ones who are meant to hear you and follow you, and that will only happen if you embrace all of who you truly are, who God made you to be, and show up with honesty and integrity.
In this episode:
- Questioning the concept of fitting in
- The importance of embracing your calling and doing things your own way, guided by God's plan
- The importance of authenticity in business and personal life, not imitating others for success
- The importance of being open to God's direction
- Showing both the messy and beautiful sides of your personality

#84: Setting Yourself Up for Success with God’s Plan with Amy Allgood
Thursday Jun 01, 2023
Thursday Jun 01, 2023
What do you do when you know you have to do something but it requires you to give up on comfort? Amy Allgood has come to the podcast to share her love for God, the story of how she left corporate America the moment she knew she had to, in order to make way for bigger things, and how her decision resulted in entrepreneurial and economic success, by using her God-given gifts. Tune in to learn why if you dedicate time to doing what God is calling you to do, you cannot fail.
Amy Allgood is a powerhouse and mentor dedicated to empowering individuals to unlock their true potential and create meaningful change in the world. With a successful career at Mary Kay Inc., Amy's entrepreneurial journey began as a part-time endeavor, driven by her desire to supplement her income and establish a plan B while working in corporate America. Today, she traverses the nation, sharing her expertise and motivational insights, training and inspiring others. Amy's current mission centers around helping both women and men discover their innate talents and gifts. She actively assumes leadership roles within her community, including her past role as Trainer and Educator for Network Professionals Incorporated, her five-year tenure leading a prominent leadership moms group, and her position as a Leaders coach at Christ Fellowship. Amy, married to Will Allgood for 16 years and mother to their three beautiful children: Carilyn, Sawyer, and Carson, also dedicates her time and energy to serving the youth at her church.
You have a mission and a purpose in life, sometimes we spend so much time focusing our energy on things that don't help us fulfill that purpose and, Amy believes that thinking futuristically and seeing the bigger picture is like solving a puzzle, you need to both, work on it and retreat from it to later come back refreshed and complete it, prioritizing what really matters and ditching what doesn't.
In today's world it isn't easy to block the noise and focus, so quiet time to notice God's will is something she advocates for and she encourages everyone to spend some time in prayer every day, and then integrate the knowledge and messages He gives you. Tune in to this conversation and find out how you can set yourself up for success using this method.
"He's given you gifts and he wants you to use these gifts for His glory"
"If you will do for the next two years what most people won't, you'll be able to live the rest of your life like most people can't."
